DecisionQuest recently conducted a nationwide survey evaluating opinions of and personal experiences with COVID-19. Dr. Hutton will report upon these results and interpret how individuals’ opinions and experiences with the pandemic may impact their future perspective regarding different types of litigation. Dr. Hutton will present ideas on case strategies and themes to effectively address jurors’ new perspectives. He will also look at how the composition of those willing to serve on a jury in the near future has changed as a result of the pandemic.   Finally, Dr. Hutton will discuss the different types of lawsuits arising from the pandemic and their implications for the legal field going forward.


Dr. Miles Hutton is a Senior Research Consultant for the Boston Office of DecisionQuest Inc., one of the country’s leading trial consulting firms. DecisionQuest offers strategic case consulting, jury research, courtroom graphics, and presentation consulting services to law firms and corporate clients worldwide.

Dr. Hutton holds a Ph.D., M.S. and M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology with a minor in Statistics and Methodology from Columbia University as well as a B.A. in Psychology from Bard College. Prior to joining DecisionQuest, Dr. Hutton worked as a research psychologist and a marketing consultant. As a research psychologist, he wrote many academic articles which appeared in such publications as Journal of Immigrant and Refugee Services, Psychiatric Services, and Psychological Services.

This event may be eligible for CLE Credits that help satisfy the mandatory CLE requirements of certain states. In the past, CLE credit approval has been given for certain MassDLA educational programs by NH, RI, CT and other states. Please contact your state bar association or CLE authority for specific requirements.
