Insurance Law Committee

Presents a

Brown Bag Lunch

Rawan v Continental Casualty

On December 18, 2019, the SJC issued its decision holding that consent-to-settle clauses in professional liability insurance policies are consistent with the public policy underlying Massachusetts' unfair settlement practices law.  During this lunch seminar, Kristen Whittle of Barton Gilman, who wrote the amicus brief for the MassDLA, will discuss this issue and the possible implications of the Court's ruling on professional liability insurers and their insureds. The Court’s decision is available at https://www.mass.gov/files/documents/2019/12/16/k12691.pdf.
